On the weekend of 2 and 3 September 1967, ASIO took photographs of participants at the Eureka Youth League (EYL) National Congress. The EYL was the youth wing of the Communist Party of Australia.
On the same weekend the Canberra Times published articles about the Liberal Party's Federal Council meeting (in secret) at the Hotel Canberra, and the Ainslee Boy Scouts meeting (secretly) in the Ainslee Girl Guides' hall.
